We are currently offering two comprehensive documents (one for general use and one for professionals) that detail the special stainless steel "Silicoalloy," which combines high hardness and high corrosion resistance with characteristics such as high strength, heat resistance, wear resistance, and anti-seizing properties. By actively utilizing silicon (Si), which was traditionally considered an impurity, as a substitute for carbon (C), and further precipitating fine intermetallic compounds, a new material has been created that was previously unimaginable. We have prepared a "Technical Handbook" that clearly explains the characteristics for beginners, and a "Technical Handbook Pro" that contains abundant test data on various properties. Please make use of these as supplementary materials for research and development in Silicoalloy (such as Silicoalloy XVI, Silicoalloy A2, etc.), stainless steel (SUS630, SUS440C, SUS420J2, etc.), and heat treatment technologies. Examples of material shapes include round bars, forged materials, wire rods, and metal powders (small quantities of various types). Introducing a simulation of a vortex pump (centrifugal pump), which is an example of fluid analysis.

CFD provides a way to shorten product development periods and reduce prototyping costs, as well as obtain detailed data that is difficult to measure through experiments. In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. Centrifugal pumps, which utilize centrifugal force to draw up liquids, are widely used for water supply in urban and agricultural irrigation, as well as for general industrial applications. An important challenge in the design process is that, due to the principle of pushing liquid with centrifugal force, cavitation tends to occur easily. Research and development are continuously conducted to suppress this and enhance pump efficiency and durability. However, this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototyping and experimenting with centrifugal pumps. With Simerics' CFD, multiple cavitation models can be used, and erosion prediction is also possible, allowing for accurate and physically meaningful simulations!
